Contractor attended the highly-regarded Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After one full year, she was awarded the role of lead. After the show ran for 92 times, she was rewarded with positive reviews. The production was recognized as one of the most successful productions by Canadian critics. The opportunity was presented to her to enroll in the Stratford Conservatory. The school is a private institution that accepts just eight men and four woman to take a course in the art of classical theatre. Contractor was eager to accept. Contractor was guaranteed a spot in the following season of shows and eventually landed the role of Hermia In A Midsummer Night's Dream.
